FAQ

At Special-T Shop, our main printing method is screen printing. Screen printing is durable, and long lasting while being the most affordable print option at high quantities.

We do offer other methods of printing as well which may fit your project better. Just send us a quote request and we can discuss what method is best for you!

If you are not familiar with the screen printing method, the FAQ here will answer some of the questions you may have regarding the ordering process.

How do I submit an order?

Visit our Quotes page to submit your project idea.

What forms of payment do you accept? When do I pay you?

PayPal, check, money order, cash, credit cards, or Venmo are all acceptable. Standard routine is 50% up front with balance due on completion.

What are the acceptable file formats and specs for art?

We prefer 300 DPI or vector files and can work with PSD, PDF, AI, TIF, EPS, and JPG formats. If not submitting vector files, your dimensions should approximately reflect what you want the print size to be.

What does "print ready" mean?

Print ready means that the file is print resolution and all colors are separated into individual layers. Most orders do not come in 100% print ready, which is why we include 30 minutes of art services for free. If we need to spend more time fine tuning the art, that will be billed at $30/hr.

I've got an idea, but I'm not an artist! Do you have graphic designers that can help?

We can most likely help you out, yes. Our team is fairly small, but we’ve got some very talented folks on board that can bring your ideas to life. Graphic design help is billed at $30/hr. Every job includes 30 minutes of art services for free.

How much do you charge for setup?

Our screen setup fee is $15 per screen. Setup is halved at 50 pieces and waived at 100 or more pieces. Reorders within 3 months are not charged setup. Reorders within 6 months are charge at 50%. Reorders after 6 months will be billed for setup.

What ink colors do you offer? Can you match my specific pantone colors?

We’ve got a list of house colors that you can choose from at no extra charge. If you need something outside of that list, we will mix specific pantones for $20 each. No ink mixing fees will be charged on reorders within 3 months. Custom colors on reorders within 6 months will be billed at $10 per custom color. Reorders outside of 6 months will be billed the regular $20 per custom color.

What brands/styles can you get?

Check out our catalog HERE. We can source a ton of different brands and styles, so it’s very likely we’ll have the right style for your job. We can even get organic and/or American made goods. Our most popular brands are Gildan, Jerzees, Next Level, Royal Apparel, Tultex, and Bella+Canvas.

Can I order a printed sample?

No. We send out a digital proof with every job, but cannot provide printed samples.

What is your turnaround time?

Our standard turn is 10-15 business days, but that is subject to change based on current workload. That countdown begins when all details are finalized and a deposit is placed, not at initial contact. Keep in mind that this is an approximation, not an ironclad guarantee. If you have a specific due date, be sure to talk to us about it when placing your order.

I need my shirts in a hurry! Do you offer rush services?

Yes, as long as we have the flexibility in our schedule. Rush fees are based on the speed you need and the size of your order. Rush fees start at 25% & go up from there, but our ability to take them on is subject to availability in our schedule. All rush jobs must be paid in full before production starts.

Do you ship?

We can ship all over the USA!

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, we maintain a 12 piece minimum for all screen print orders. More complex orders require a minimum of 25 to 50 pieces depending on the complexity of the project. If you require a small quantity, we can provide options for other print methods.

Does the number of garments impact the price per piece?

When it comes to screenprinting, there are varying price breaks at 25, 50, and 100. Additional breaks come in at 150, 250, and above that. Embroidery breaks are a little different, but there are also quantity discounts involved there.

I have my own shirts. Will you print on them?

Yes, but we recommend you talk to us before making any purchases. In the end, you may not save as much as you think, and we cannot be held responsible for misprints on customer supplied garments.

Can you print on anything other than shirts?

Most definitely. We’ve printed tote bags, aprons, drawstring bags, hats… and the list goes on. If you’ve got a wacky idea, run it by us. Even if we can’t help you, maybe we can point you in the right direction.

Do you offer embroidery services?

Yes. Get in touch for details.

What is your dog's name?

Her name is Nellie.
